Planet Clicker Upgrades: Every Generator, Price and Output
Published · Updated · 2 min read
Everything you buy in Planet Clicker comes from the shop, which you open with the button in the bottom right corner. Each planet has its own list. There are two kinds of upgrade: one clicker upgrade per planet, which multiplies your click power on that planet, and generators, which add a fixed amount of energy per second. The figures below come from the upgrade lists inside the game's Scratch project.
Generators
| Planet | Generator | First price | Adds | Seconds to pay back the first one |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Earth | Campfire | 100 | 1/s | 100 |
| Earth | Farm | 800 | 10/s | 80 |
| Earth | Animal farm | 10,000 | 120/s | 83 |
| Earth | Windmill | 75,000 | 1,000/s | 75 |
| Earth | Factory | 250,000 | 5,000/s | 50 |
| Mars | Solar panels | 250,000 | 8,000/s | 31 |
| Mars | Oil mine | 3 million | 75,000/s | 40 |
| Mars | Coal power plant | 40 million | 1 million/s | 40 |
| Mars | Nuclear power plant | 500 million | 20 million/s | 25 |
| Mars | Alien technology | 8 billion | 500 million/s | 16 |
| Venus | Iron mine | 250 billion | 1 billion/s | 250 |
| Venus | Lava power plant | 3 trillion | 20 billion/s | 150 |
| Venus | Future technology | 80 trillion | 1 trillion/s | 80 |
Every time you buy a generator, its next price goes up by 15%. Each generator can be bought up to 1,000 times; after that the shop shows "maxed". The payback column is just price divided by output for the first copy, so it gets longer with every copy you add.
Clicker upgrades
| Upgrade | First price | Effect | Price growth | Max |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Earth clicker | 20 | x2 Earth click power | x3 per buy | 10 |
| Mars clicker | 100,000 | x4 Mars click power | x6 per buy | 10 |
| Venus clicker | 100 billion | x8 Venus click power | x12 per buy | 10 |
The clicker upgrades multiply, they do not add. Ten Earth clicker upgrades take Earth from 1 to 1,024 energy per click and cost 590,480 energy in total. Click power only applies on the planet the upgrade belongs to.
What the numbers mean for buying
- On Earth, the factory is the best value per energy spent. Its first copy pays for itself in 50 seconds, faster than any other Earth generator. The campfire is the slowest.
- Mars generators beat Earth ones. Solar panels cost the same as a factory but add 8,000/s instead of 5,000/s. Further up the list, alien technology pays back fastest of anything in the game.
- Venus generators are slow to repay at first. An iron mine needs 250 seconds to return its price. They are still the only way to add billions and trillions per second, so they matter once you are on Venus.
- Cheap Earth clicker upgrades help at the very start. The first few cost 20, 60 and 180, so they double your click several times before you can afford much else.
- Compare after a few copies. Because of the 15% price rise, a generator you have bought many times can become worse value than the next one up the list. Check the price shown on each "buy" button.
Energy per second is one shared total, so generators on every planet add to the same balance no matter which planet you are viewing.
